HomeAbout Me

I'm a semi-retired therapist in private practice. I earned my MA degree in psychology at Lesley University, Cambridge, MA in 1997. Prior to that, I had been working in the mental health field since the mid-seventies. Some of my jobs included: Human Rights Officer at a mental hospital on Cape Cod, Substance Abuse Counselor at a rehab on Cape Cod, Social Worker at several mental health clinics on the Cape, etc. However, my original background was in the arts, including painting and selling over 100 human interest studies of city people during the years I lived in Philadelphia.

I began studying Buddhism in 2002. One of my initial sources of inspiration was joining several online Buddhist groups and learning so much helpful information from the members who had been practicing Buddhism for a long time. I decided continue this process when I opened my own Buddhist website - Buddhist Travelers - in May 2008.

On a personal note, I have three wonderful grown children (2 sons & 1 daughter) and one granddaughter who lives with my second son in Colorado. On a sad note, my husband of 25 years died in April 2004. But after a period of grieving, I decided to move from Cape Cod to Florida to live near my sister and her family. Since then, I've been learning how to enjoy the simple things in life, including nature, animals, yoga/meditation, outdoor gardening, raising indoor orchids, playing with my precious cat Bernadette, writing, painting, good movies, good music, good books ... the list goes on and on!

As for places I have lived, I was born and raised in South Orange, N.J., spent summer vacations in the Pocono Mountains, PA; also lived in Delaware, Philadelphia and Cape Cod, MA. Some of my travels have included trips to Italy, France, England, Holland, Switzerland, Canada, most states in the US, plus Jamaica and some other locations in the Caribbean Islands.

As for this very day, I'm delighted to be a part of Buddhist Travelers and meeting others who are following a similar spiritual path.

Namaste!

Hi Carol,
I have returned to Multiply after quite some time due to preoccupation with work, and this is just a hello to keep in touch. I expect to be transferred to Dehradun very soon and so will be busy winding up for the next month or so - but hope to be in touch after I settle in doon
Take care and keep in touch
